Seeing new concept cars is always exciting, this is why there are so many automotive shows around the world, to allow manufacturers to show off their new ideas and get a bit of feedback. But one thing you will always see in common across all new vehicles is that they will be meeting a need either expressed by the customers, or one the customers are being told is important to them.

In the current climate of climate change, fuel consumption and rising costs of everything, fuel efficient vehicles are the way to go. While not all manufacturers are going the way of the hybrid, the low fuel consumption of diesel vehicles is a great second choice for limousine fleets.

The concept for the new Hyundai Multi Purpose Vehicle will not become a reality until around 2010 however, it is sure to be an anticipated release as it is an interesting, unique and stylish design concept. The Hyundai designers have used an open mouthed front end design and a hexagonal grille which they are saying is the new way of their vehicles’ identity.

There are also ‘suicide doors’ at the rear allowing for large items, or ease of access getting in and out. The 2.2 litre turbo diesel engine is intending to produce 210 brake horsepower, and 340 pounds of torque.

With anything multipurpose being a shoe in for versatility and the ability to be prepared for anything, the concept of the Hyundai MPV could find a comfortable home in the fleets of limousine hire companies in the UK. With the manoeuvrability of a standard sized vehicle, and the space for a full car of people to ride comfortably, the Hyundai would also have the power to get you to the airport on time, or to master the country roads on the way to a seaside retreat.
